Ladi – the olive oil experts, an educational & consulting company based in Cyprus offering educational seminars and workshops on olive oil tasting, Mediterranean nutrition, holistic health and wellness to visitors from abroad, culinary professionals, local consumers, producers and children.
Our mission
My goal is to create ambassadors in different parts of the world, to share my passion for this still undiscovered and unique product in many different ways.
To provide services and create a team that would impact people’s lives. To pass on my knowledge and experience of the quality, multiple uses and health benefits of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) and the Mediterranean diet.
Our Vision
To bring together all producers, researchers, restaurateurs, chefs, consumers, etc. to work together to promote a new culture of extra virgin olive oil similar to the one that exists in the wine world and to start making a change in the olive oil industry. And we can do that if we focus on education. Education of all of the above, producers, vendors, chefs, restaurant owners, consumers and children because children are the consumers of the future.
Marinos Marinos
I was born in Paphos, grew up in Famagusta and now I live in Nicosia. So I had the opportunity to explore the beauty of the whole island. And ever since I can remember myself, discovering flavours and tastes has been my passion. Although I came from a graphic arts background, I was always curious to discover different flavours and ingredients from all over the world, trying to use these ingredients in my cooking and create my own recipes. I grew up watching my mother and grandmother cook and later had the opportunity to work in various hotels, restaurants and kitchens.
I was a member of the team of tasters for the Cyprus Eating Awards for many years, as well as a judge for the Gastronomos Awards in the Olive Oil category, which gave me the opportunity to develop my palette by tasting all kinds of cuisines. After a successful career in the media industry for more than 20 years, I decided I needed a change. Lately I’ve been trying to create recipes with local Cypriot ingredients and then I discovered the amazing world of olive oil.
My great passion for olive oil and gastronomy led me to seek more information and knowledge about this amazing product and I discovered that you can become a professional olive oil taster. In 2022 I was awarded a scholarship by the International Olive Oil Council (IOC), so I quit my job to attend the most important and distinguished olive oil tasting course at the University of Jaén in Spain (UJA), from which I now hold the title of Specialist in Virgin Olive Oil Tasting. I have been trained by important Spanish olive oil experts & tasters such as Marino Uceda, Maria Paz Aguilera, Sebastian Sanchez, Hipolito Garcia Toledo, Leopoldo Martinez Nieto, Placido Pascual Morales and many others.
Having always been passionate about olive oil, gastronomy and healthy living, deep down I always knew and had a dream that one day I would work in this industry.
